Meet the Training Programme Directors and administrative staff.
Training Programme Directors
I have been a programme director on the Barnsley VTS for almost 2 years joining shortly after finishing the Barnsley VTS myself. I work as a part time partner in Doncaster. My main current role is as Senior Training Programme Director liaising between the Barnsley training scheme and the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery. I am also a trainer.
I work as a Partner, and Trainer, at Penistone Group Practice. I live in Sheffield with my wife (also a GP) and my three daughters.
I try my best to maintain the website so any problems, things you want adding or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
I trained on the Barnsley VTS scheme myself… and enjoyed it so much I’m back for more! I now work as a salaried GP at Walderslade Surgery and I’m keen to get involved in medical education.
I enjoy minor surgery and tap dancing, but not usually at the same time. I’m also interested in elderly medicine and women’s health but I’d be happy to give it all up if I’m offered a part in the West End or Broadway. Sadly the offers haven’t been forthcoming so far! I also love travelling when time permits and am always busy planning my next holiday.
Hello, I have over 14 years of service in the NHS and have secretarial experience in Social work, Tissue Viability & Training & Development. I am also a qualified Health & Safety Adviser and worked for Barnsley PCT delivering various Health & Safety Training packages across the Board (complete with hi-vis jacket, hard hat & clipboard).
I am really enjoying the variety and challenges that the GP CME Facilitator’s role offers and never have two days the same; I work hard to support trainees, (and Programme Directors and Trainers), as they progress on their VTS journey.
Outside of work, I love to travel and am planning to visit Italy one day. Hoping to soak up the culture, sunshine, oh yes, and the vino! Ciao!
